A small celebration in the heart of Dee’s hometown,

Dee & John

with the people who matter the most.

about us

Dee grew up in Mysore; John grew up between Singapore and London. Somewhere in the middle, the two of us found each other — and have been collecting cities, meals and long flights together ever since.

In March 2027 we’re bringing it all back to where Dee started. Three days, four celebrations, two families becoming one — and the people who made us, all in one place. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Afternoon • Arrival

Hotel JP Fortune Palace

Check in at JP Fortune Palace from 2pm, unwind, and get ready for the evening Sangeet.

Evening • Sangeet

Wind Chimes, Mysuru

Sangeet means “sung together,” and that’s exactly what it is: a joyful evening of music, dance, and celebration ahead of the wedding. Traditionally, it’s when both families come together to sing and perform for the couple, but ours will be part performance, part party: expect choreographed dances from family and friends, a DJ, cocktails, and dinner. Come ready to dance

Morning • Haldi & Mehendi

Wind Chimes, Mysuru

Haldi is one of the oldest and most cherished Indian wedding rituals: a turmeric paste is playfully applied to the couple by family and friends, believed to bless them, ward off evil, and give the skin a natural glow before the big day. Alongside the haldi, there’ll be mehendi (henna) for our guests, plus games and a leisurely brunch

Evening • Chinese tea ceremony & dinner

Wind Chimes, Mysuru

The tea ceremony is one of the most meaningful traditions in Chinese culture: the couple formally serves tea to their parents and elders as a gesture of respect and gratitude, and in return receive blessings (and often, red packets!) for their new life together. It’s an intimate moment with close family, so we’ll be celebrating it at the venue before everyone arrives for dinner. However, guests are welcome to arrive to the venue earlier to view it.

The evening continues with a sit-down Chinese dinner, along with speeches from those closest to us and live music.

Morning • Wedding ceremony

Wind Chimes, Mysuru

Our wedding follows South Indian Brahmin tradition. This involves a series of symbolic rituals rooted in centuries of custom, performed with the guidance of our priest, Dr Brahmaramba Maheshwari. At its heart, the ceremony is about two families uniting and a couple beginning their life together, witnessed and blessed by everyone present. It’ll be followed by a traditional lunch served on banana leaves

Afternoon • Checkout & departures

where to shop

There are many multi-designer stores that deliver abroad, such as Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, Aashni & Co and Kalki Fashion

For more affordable options, you could try lashkaraa.com (delivers to the US, UK and Singapore) or Vinted/Facebook Marketplace for pre-loved options

Alternatively, you could plan to arrive in Mysore a day or two earlier and purchase your outfits locally – Devaraj Urs Road has multiple options across price ranges

logistics

flights

Guests are kindly asked to book their own flights. We recommend arriving in Mysore no later than 27 March 2027, morning to allow time for rest before the wedding. The closest airports are Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore (international flights) and Mysore airport (domestic flights)

accomodation

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at Hotel JP Fortune Palace, Mysuru for 27-29 March 2027 for our outstation guests, so there is no need to book accommodation on those days. Should you wish to arrive before or stay afterwards, our wedding planner can help you book further days at the hotel should you wish. We have assumed guests whose home town is Mysore do not need accommodation

transport from the airport

The easiest way to get from Bangalore airport to Mysore is to take the KSRTC Flybus, which picks you up at the airport and drops you to Mysore bus stand, which is a short drive away from the hotel: bengaluruairport.com. Alternatively, you can book an Uber or Ola cab from the airport to the hotel (although this will be more expensive)

visas

Non-Indian nationals will need to obtain an e-visa prior to arrival: indianvisaonline.gov.in. We recommend applying at least a month in advance to allow sufficient processing time. If you need any details to support the visa application, please contact us at deeandjohn.2027@gmail.com or +44 07765631993 (Dee) / +44 07835330426 (John)

transport to and from the venue

We will arrange for transport to and from the hotel to the venue before and after each event

what to do in
mysore

We’re getting married in Mysore, and we’d love for you to make the most of the trip. Here’s a guide to what’s worth seeing in the city itself, and where to go if you have extra days to spare.

sights

While You’re in Mysore

Mysore Palace (Amba Vilas): The heart of it all. Built in 1912 for the Wodeyar dynasty, this Indo-Saracenic landmark is best seen at golden hour (if you are driving by) or ticketed entry to the inside is available during the day (10am–5:30pm).

Chamundi Hills: A short drive above the city, with sweeping views, the Chamundeshwari Temple, and a striking Nandi statue partway up the climb.

Devaraja Market: Mysore’s oldest market, spilling over with flower garlands, spices, and fresh produce.

Brindavan Gardens: Terraced gardens beside the KRS Dam, with a musical fountain show in the evenings.

Srirangapatna & Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary: A short trip out of town: Tipu Sultan’s island fort and summer palace, paired with one of Karnataka’s best bird sanctuaries.

Other favourites: St. Philomena’s Church, Jaganmohan Palace art gallery, and a quiet walk around Karanji or Kukkarahalli Lake.

Exploring Further

If you’re extending your trip, Karnataka and its neighbours have plenty to offer within easy reach.

Easy add-ons: a day trip or one night away

Bandipur National Park (~80 km, under 2 hrs): One of India’s best tiger reserves, home to elephants, leopards and gaur. Easily done as a day safari from Mysore.

Coorg (~120 km, 2.5–3 hrs): Misty hills, coffee and spice plantations, waterfalls, and the Golden Temple monastery at Bylakuppe en route. Two days covers the highlights nicely.

Worth a weekend: two to three nights

Wayanad, Kerala (~130–150 km, 3–4 hrs): Wildlife, waterfalls and spice estates.

Hampi (~400 km, 5–7 hrs drive): The UNESCO-listed ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, set among a dramatic boulder-strewn landscape.

If you have the extra days

Munnar & the Kerala backwaters (Alleppey, Kumarakom): Tea-carpeted hills and houseboat cruises through the backwaters, roughly 6 hours by road from Mysore.

Goa: India’s beach escape, best reached by flight from Bangalore.

questions & answers

can i bring a plus one?

As our venue has limited space, we are unable to accommodate any additional guests beyond those listed on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding and support

are kids welcome?

Your invite should already include your children, but please contact us if not

what will the weather be like?

Late March in Mysore is hot and dry: daytime highs of around 33–35°C, cooling to about 20–22°C at night, with rain on only one or two days in the whole month. Pack light, breathable fabrics, sunglasses and something for the cooler evenings

can i take photos during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them using our wedding QR code

i have a dietary restriction — who do i tell?

Add it to the dietary requirements box when you RSVP, or email us at deeandjohn.2027@gmail.com

what about currency and atms?

India uses the rupee (INR). Cards are accepted at the hotel and most larger shops and restaurants, and ATMs are easy to find in Mysore, but it is worth withdrawing some cash for smaller vendors, autos and markets. Much of India now pays by UPI QR code (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), which usually needs an Indian bank account, so cash remains the simplest option for visitors

are you having a gift list?

Your presence is all we ask for — but if you would like to give something, everything is on our gifts page

can i stay extra nights at the hotel?

We have booked accommodation at Hotel JP Fortune Palace for the nights of 27 and 28 March. If you would like to arrive earlier or stay on, you are welcome to book the extra nights yourself, either directly with the hotel, through Booking.com or any other booking site

your presence is all we ask for.

Having you travel to be with us is the greatest gift of all. If you’d still like to mark the occasion, we’ll share details of a gift registry closer to the day.

Thank you for being part of this milestone with us.
